Learn about the sense of smell in the garden, the reasons for fragrance (attraction of pollinators, survival), what parts are fragrant, timing of scent, and utilizing scent in the placement of plants in the garden. April 9, 2025(1 event) 12:00 pm: Brown Bagging it in My Backyard - Native Plants: It Takes a City with Julie Slater - Virtual – Meadow City is one member of a vibrant community advocating for native plants in the Greater Cleveland area. Learn how this urban nursery got started and how they collaborate with others to create habitat in our region. As director of Meadow City, Julie Slater does wild seed collection, marketing, and sales. She has a master’s in ecological restoration from Ohio State. Julie gained her love of native plants working in the mountains of Virginia and the bogs of Ohio.
